Welcome to the new Wintergrasp! (3.3.3)

Last night I ventured into WG for my usual once a week, get the honor>buy epic gems> sell them on the AH> profit, run! A couple of observations, first off, what a match! Usually the Alliance on my server defend with ease, we take all the workshops and then taunt the hordies by letting their four lonely siege engines get just in range of a wall and then zerg destroy them.

This time they put up one hell of a fight, they broke thru 3 different outer walls (they didn’t make it into the inner courtyard thou), and held us off on the last tower for a couple minutes. When the dust settled, I had accumulated 202 HK’s and 12,000+ honor (not including the quest turn-ins)! I may re-enter BG’s and run WG more than once a week if just to get the Honor for the mounts and of course to sell some more epic gems (which currently go for over 200G per gem).

I think the changes Bliz has made to BG’s and Honor is a move in the right direction to encourage more people to PvP. However, I can see how it will anger some of the experienced PvPers who have had their exp from BG’s halved and on top of that, they have to deal with un geared noob PvPers who have no clue how to do it right.

Either way I had a blast, and after that fun, I had to run a 10 or 25 man VoA. An old healing partner of mine asked me to join his group for 10 man and two heal it. Two healing is boarder line the norm for VoA 10 now, this time would be unique for me thou, Dual Holy Pallys FTW! Actually we had a total of 6 Pallys in the group, two tanks two ret and two heals.

Pallys CAN raid heal! Seriously we can, just nowhere near as effective as any other class. In the VoA 10 above all we did was beacon opposite tanks and bomb the raid after each whiteout. We were in and out with 4 dead bosses in less than 20 min.

State of the blog: I have been slammed at work as of late and haven’t had much time to play let alone write. As we say, we are casuals and if you can find us, maybe we can help! Things are starting to slow back down so you will be seeing more from us soon.

  1. I feel like the popularity of PVP has dropped off because arena doesn't feel as accessible or is not offering a good time-reward ratio as in TBC. However, I do agree that this is a step in the right direction. It just sucks that in the mean time there will be under-geared players. Hopefully, the other side has more under-geared players =P
